Position Overview

We are currently enhancing our 24/7 Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC) in collaboration with the Department of Defence. The CSOC plays a vital role in conjunction with the Defence Security Operations Centre (DSOC) to protect one of the most extensive and intricate ICT infrastructures in the region.

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Cyber Security Analyst who can lead, motivate, and guide team members towards achieving mission-critical objectives.

Additional Responsibilities Include

  • Exhibiting leadership as a shift lead and within the wider team to fulfill mission objectives.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to manage and report security incidents.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Developing and refining SOC tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
  • Creating custom signatures for threat detection and response.
  • Participating in threat hunting operations using established adversary TTPs.
  • Producing security operational documentation and incident reports.
  • Conducting service level reporting in alignment with contractual obligations.
  • Identifying and integrating new intelligence sources into cyber threat analysis.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Proven expertise in developing and managing SIEM (Splunk) applications and workflows.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Windows, Linux, and networking.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience in incident response.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Trellix EPO, Tenable, and Palo Alto.
  • Experience with scripting and automation technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate a professional team.
  • Relevant ICT Security certifications (e.g., CompTIA Sec+, CISSP, GIAC) are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
  • Proven track record of delivering excellent results in complex environments.
  • Possession of current NV1 or NV2 security clearance is required.

Additional Information

Given the nature of this position, the successful candidate must be an Australian Citizen and hold a government NV-1 security clearance, with the expectation of obtaining NV-2.
