As a leading professional in legal services, this role presents an exceptional opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and growth-oriented organisation.

The position involves providing expert advice and support on various commercial contracts, memoranda of understanding, leases, licenses, procurement, probity, privacy, data protection, intellectual property, risk management, and general compliance matters.

Additionally, you will be responsible for assisting with the administration of the organisation's insurance program, including making claims, advising on policy coverage, and assisting with the annual renewal process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members
  • Develop and maintain legal precedents
  • Conduct training sessions on legal concepts for the organisation
  • Manage the engagement of external legal advisors to ensure quality services are delivered on time and within budget

About You

We are seeking highly skilled candidates who possess:

  • Admission as a legal practitioner of the High Court or Supreme Court of a State or Territory
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience as a legal practitioner in commercial and/or leasing (preferably for large national or government tenants)
  • Previous experience working in-house in a commercial, government, or statutory authority environment
  • Mid-tier or top-tier law firm experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat

Insurance experience is desirable but not mandatory, as on-the-job training can be provided.

You will demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, and ability to work with minimal supervision while contributing to team goals. A positive attitude towards change and uncertainty, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, is essential.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, negotiation skills, and ability to develop constructive relationships with internal clients and external stakeholders are highly valued.
