We are seeking a skilled and experienced Excavator Operator to join our Production Mining Team at Thiess. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment efficiently, safely, and competently to ensure maximum output.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate excavators, dozers, graders, and loaders in a production mining environment
  • Comply with Thiess' policies and procedures to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
  • Respond to instructions from Mining Supervisors and maintain open communication
  • Ensure floor levels are maintained and minimize dilution to achieve design parameters
  • Maintain stockpiles, dumps, and haul roads to ensure flow in a safe and efficient manner
  • Operate, drive, and move material as directed to prepare operating areas and roads
  • Set and maintain high housekeeping standards and perform pre-start checks
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience operating excavators, dozers, graders, and loaders in a production mining environment
  • Experience operating Liebherr 9200 or equivalent
  • Desirable experience operating CAT D10, Cat 16M, or CAT 992
  • Strong mining operational skills and ability to maintain pit floors and bunds
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of ore mark ups and pit configuration
  • HR driver's license (desirable)
  • Proven compliance and commitment to health and safety at all times
