Child and Family Wellbeing Worker

TeamHEALTH stands as a premier not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing mental health services across the Northern Territory. With over three decades of experience, TeamHEALTH has been committed to offering outreach services, support, and advocacy for individuals facing mental health challenges.

In this role, reporting directly to the Team Leader, the Child and Family Wellbeing Worker will implement strength-based case management strategies and facilitate activities tailored for children, young people, and families, adhering to established program guidelines. Additionally, outreach support will be provided to aid in the creation and execution of participant-centered Family Action Plans.

This position requires the Child and Family Wellbeing Worker to establish effective referral pathways, ensuring access to services for vulnerable children, young people, and families who may not typically engage with mental health or child services.

Under the guidance of the Team Leader, the Child and Family Wellbeing Worker will also deliver educational sessions, training, and informational resources aimed at enhancing mental health awareness among program participants and the broader community.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this position, candidates should possess:

  1. A Diploma or Certificate-level qualification in a relevant health or welfare field.
  2. Proven experience working with children, young people, and families, including those from Indigenous and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
  3. A solid understanding and application of a strength-based approach, along with proficiency in various interventions pertinent to children and young people.
  4. The ability to cultivate relationships and communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including participants, community members, and other service providers.
  5. Experience in delivering educational content to young people.

The successful candidate will be required to hold a current National Police Certificate, NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, Ochre Card, NT Driver's Licence, and have completed the NDIS Worker Screen and Orientation Module.
