**Job Title:** Strategic Writer

We are seeking a talented writer to join our team in Canberra, ACT. As a strategic writer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development of Navy capability proposals and managing them through the internal committee process for government consideration.

The successful candidate will have experience at an intermediate to senior level in defence, particularly in policy or government relations. They will also possess excellent writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise, accurate, and timely documentation for government consideration.

In addition to their technical expertise, the ideal candidate will be able to build positive working relationships with stakeholders while managing competing agendas. They will also possess strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex issues and develop documentation for early-stage capability projects.

The successful candidate will also be required to:

  • Develop and coordinate committee documentation in support of proposals adhering to internal committee and government requirements
  • Translate technical requirements and specifications into compelling narratives tailored to different and diverse audiences
  • Manage high-level documents through the internal committee process for Government consideration
