Are you passionate about digital excellence and community engagement? We're seeking a skilled Digital Content Specialist to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring our council's digital platforms are efficient, accessible, and user-friendly.

The successful candidate will have experience in creating website content that meets accessibility standards (AA), delivering SEO-optimised content, and developing policies and procedures. You'll also have high-level stakeholder engagement and agency management skills, as well as the ability to provide training and support materials.

You'll work closely with our IT team to deliver functionality and integrated tools where required, and support the communications, marketing, digital, IT, internal comms, and other teams across the organisation.

We're looking for someone who is proactive, has excellent communication skills, and can foster an environment of ongoing skills improvement across the website author base. If you're a creative problem-solver with a passion for digital excellence, we want to hear from you

About the Role:

This is a full-time position that involves:

  • Maintaining and improving the efficiency and accessibility of our council's websites;
  • Developing and implementing digital strategies to improve user experience and search engine optimisation;
  • Providing best practice advice on website management and developing guides, strategies, and policies to ensure clarity and consistency;
  • Supporting the management of digital assets such as Google Places, Google Maps, and third-party platforms;
  • Collaborating with the digital and communications teams on social media management, monitoring, scheduling, and content creation;

What You'll Need:

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A strong background in digital content creation, including experience with accessibility standards (AA) and SEO-optimised content;
  • High-level stakeholder engagement and agency management skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to provide training and support materials;
  • Proven experience in project management and coordination;
  • Familiarity with website management tools and platforms;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines;
