The Transition to Mental Health Nursing Program (TTMHNP) is a career development opportunity for Registered Nurses who are looking to transition to a mental health setting.
Key Features:
- Complete 2 six-month rotations across multiple services within the Mental Health, Drugs and Alcohol Service
- Individual and group supervision
- Support from preceptors, clinical staff, managers, and educators
- Opportunity to work with a multidisciplinary team in a mental health setting
About the Program
The TTMHNP is designed to provide Registered Nurses with the skills and knowledge needed to work in a mental health setting. The program includes:
- A 2-week in-depth orientation program at the beginning of the Entry to Practice Program
- Supernumerary shifts at each clinical site
- Individual and group supervision
- Support from preceptors, clinical staff, managers, and educators
