As a key member of our Laverton Meltshop maintenance team, the Reliability Engineer will play a crucial role in achieving sustainable continuous improvement of asset reliability. Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, this position will focus on converting reactive repairs into proactive work, ensuring the optimal performance of our assets.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct reliability analysis to identify asset performance gaps and opportunities for improvement using Reliability Centred Maintenance principles.
- Evaluate the need for equipment capital replacement plans, major overhauls, and other initiatives to complement our overall improvement strategy.
- Improve the condition monitoring and lubrication program to minimize downtime and optimize maintenance efficiency.
- Facilitate training sessions for maintenance and operations personnel to enhance their understanding of their role in asset reliability.
- Investigate equipment failures to determine the root cause and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Analyze equipment failures, downtime, and maintenance activities to devise strategies for continuous improvement.
- High safety standards as a core value and an understanding of legislative safety requirements.
- Skills in root cause analysis and a good understanding of Reliability Centred Maintenance.
- Solid interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent time management and organization skills.
- Tech-savvy and good computer skills, with a good working knowledge of SAP.
- Previous exposure to a computer-based maintenance management system (CMMS).
