About This Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a Women's Football Development Coordinator. This role will play a crucial part in delivering Victoria's strategic actions and initiatives as part of the AFL Women & Girls Game Development Action Plan.

The plan focuses on increasing participation and representation of women and girls across all facets of the game, including playing, coaching, umpiring, officiating, and governance. It is structured in phases, with Phase 2 covering 2026-2028, and aligns with the broader Women's Football Vision, which outlines the AFL's commitment to the continued progression of the game for women and girls across all levels of Australian football.

A Day in the Life / Key Responsibilities
  • Support clubs, leagues, and umpire groups to implement their action plans and drive positive improvements in the community football environment
  • Facilitate club, league, and umpire education modules and programs that upskill women in community football leadership positions
  • Deliver targeted initiatives that increase the number of women in Community Football Leadership positions
  • Work with state leads to manage coach developers, umpire liaisons, and other initiatives
  • Contribute to key projects related to the Women & Girls Game Development Action Plan
