Underground Mining Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead and coordinate our underground mining operations in Africa. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in overseeing the success of our business.

The position requires a seasoned manager to plan and direct mine development, ensure adherence to safety regulations, and review records to guarantee compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Planning and coordinating underground mining activities
  • Reviewing data to plan and direct mine development
  • Ensuring adherence to mining laws and safety regulations
  • Supervising Underground Shift Supervisors and assisting with planning of mining activities
  • Liaising with clients to ensure expectations are realistic and projected targets are achieved safely and to specifications

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in Underground Hard Rock Mining with at least 4 years in a foreman or superintendent role executing high productivity underground mining contracts
  • Production and development background with operator experience
  • Ability to coordinate activities and schedule labor
  • Ability to recognize potential mining hazards and risks
  • Ability to assess mining working conditions and environment
  • Verbal communication skills
