Medical Laboratory Technician Role

Join us in this exciting opportunity to work as a Medical Laboratory Technician in our dynamic team. We are seeking experienced and skilled professionals to join our multidisciplinary technical staff who service the needs of the diverse and rapidly growing region.

  • Job Description:
  • Perform a range of laboratory investigations by applying established methods and procedures, as directed.
  • Work in a 24-hour laboratory environment with responsibilities including specimen reception, data entry, and laboratory testing in biochemistry, haematology, and immunohaematology departments.
  • Maintain analyzers, ensure quality control, and participate in activities as directed by senior staff to meet ongoing compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum qualification of Diploma in Laboratory Technology or equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution with subjects relevant to pathology or medical laboratory operations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in delivering pathology services within a discipline relevant to the department, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems, and Quality Systems.
  • Ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Teamwork skills, with the ability to work autonomously while delivering results within specified timeframes.
  • Excellent customer-focused approach, with well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills.
  • Initiative, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with the ability to apply established principles in a pathology laboratory and investigate and resolve general and complex issues.
