Job Description

As a Basic Physician Trainee, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to patients in a unique and diverse clinical setting.

The role involves working in a level three teaching hospital with opportunities for rotations through various specialties, including General Medicine, Respiratory, Nephrology, ICU, Cardiology, Geriatrics, Gastroenterology, Alcohol and Other Drugs, Oncology, Haematology, Palliative care, and Neurology.

You will have the opportunity to work with a multicultural patient population, including indigenous patients from diverse linguistic backgrounds.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Current registration as a medical practitioner with the relevant state or territory health department;
  • Completion of at least 3 years of postgraduate training in medicine;
  • Skills and experience in working with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
