Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Field Engineer to join our team in supporting the design, construction, and operation of AWS data centers. As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to our data center operations team, ensuring the highest standards of safety and security while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform design and equipment submittal review for new data centers in your region.
- Troubleshoot and resolve site/equipment failures, conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and creating Corrective Action (CA) documentation.
- Directly support operational issues with ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, and event support.
- Own the conceptual design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions, adding capacity, improving availability, and increasing efficiency.
- Interface with internal data center operations, design engineering, server hardware, and environmental health and safety teams to promote standards and consistency.
- Develop innovative solutions for AWS data centers.
- Work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.
- Initiate and lead engineering audits, including on-site visits, to identify risks and recommend mitigations.
- Act as resident engineer during new construction projects, supporting construction, commissioning, and turnover.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 3+ cumulative years of experience with industrial or commercial engineering in Mission Critical facilities, including data centers, power generation, and oil/gas facilities.
- Direct experience with data center design, construction, operation, or maintenance is preferred.
- Registered Professional Engineer or Advanced degree in engineering, business, or related field is a plus.
