Berry Street provides Kinship Care services to children and their families in the Hume region. This care is provided by extended family members or networks when the biological parents are unable to provide care.
This position has an outreach focus in the community, with service delivery across various shires. The primary objective is to ensure the long-term stability, security, safety and development needs of the children and young people are met.
**Key Responsibilities**
We are seeking a dedicated professional to provide case management services to statutory kinship care arrangements. This will involve enhancing and building on available formal and informal family and community supports.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability to effectively engage with children, young people and their kinship families. They must also have a deep understanding of the inter-generational factors and complex relationships that can impact kinship placements.
Experience working with children, young people and families through an attachment and trauma-based lens is essential. A Diploma in Psychology, Social Work, Youth Work or relevant field with intermediate experience in the sector is required. A Bachelor qualification is highly desirable.
