Family Time Facilitator and Mentor

We are seeking a dedicated Family Time Facilitator and Mentor to join our team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with children and young people in out-of-home care, facilitating supervised contact visits between them and their birth families.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, supervising, and reporting on contact visits, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all parties involved.

This is a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people, while also developing your skills and expertise in family engagement and facilitation.

About the Role
  • Develop and implement plans for supervised contact visits between children/young people and their birth families
  • Supervise and facilitate contact visits, ensuring a safe and supportive environment
  • Report on contact visits, highlighting any concerns or issues that may arise

The ideal candidate will possess a diploma in a child-related field, along with demonstrated experience in supervised contact, out-of-home care, children's services, youth work, or a related field. They will also have a strong understanding of child and adolescent development, as well as the indicators of child abuse.

Requirements
  • Diploma in a child-related field
  • Demonstrated experience in supervised contact, out-of-home care, children's services, youth work, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of child and adolescent development and indicators of child abuse
  • Able to manage challenging behavior and prevent/de-escalate crises
