Software Development Leader Sought

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Leader to lead complex projects, mentor junior engineers, and drive innovation in software development.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Participate in testing, implementation, maintenance, and escalated support of our most complex solutions.
  2. Develop customized coding, software integration, analysis, and configuration of solutions using relevant tools and technologies.
  3. Ensure adherence to company standards, providing technical consultation on challenging situations.
  4. Write and run unit tests, devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems, and use analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.
  5. Mentor less experienced teammates to build technical expertise and provide warranty support.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and eight to twelve years of experience as a developer or equivalent education and related training or experience.
  • Experience with the following tech stack: Angular, .NET, Python, Azure Native, NoSQL (MongoDB or CosmosDB), Azure SQL, Databricks, Fabric, Azure Data Platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of business and organizational strategies and processes, ability to interpret internal and external business challenges, and recommend best practices.
  • Sophisticated analytical skills, ability to solve complex technical and business problems, and ability to influence others at senior levels to adopt a new perspective.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree and ten years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Insurance industry experience, professional experience building apps or services from the ground up and scaling at an enterprise level, and experience with Open Source tools and frameworks.

  • Ability to lead complex projects, sound understanding of business and organizational strategies and processes, and sophisticated analytical skills.
  • Ability to influence others at senior levels to adopt a new perspective, provide warranty support, and develop code in accordance with acceptance criteria established by the Product Owner.
