Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic communication strategies aligned with organisational goals.
  • Compose and disseminate press releases, media statements, and other public relations materials.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media outlets and respond to media inquiries.
  • Coordinate internal and external communications to ensure consistency in messaging.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to produce engaging content across digital and traditional platforms.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and suggest improvements.
  • Support event planning and promotional activities to enhance public engagement.
  • Ensure all communications align with the organisation's values and objectives.
Requirements
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience in public relations, media liaison, or communications roles is necessary.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail are essential.
  • Knowledge of the not-for-profit industry and its unique communication needs is highly regarded.
  • Experience working with remote Indigenous communities is an advantage.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is crucial.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills are required.
  • Proficiency in using communication tools and platforms, including social media, is necessary.
