Job Title: Community Engagement Specialist

In the role of Community Engagement Specialist, you will work with individuals with disabilities, their families and caregivers to achieve their goals and improve their lives. This includes:

  • Collaborating with participants to develop tailored plans that meet their unique needs.
  • Connecting people with disabilities to local support services and resources that enhance their quality of life.
  • Supporting participants to navigate the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and access the benefits it provides.
  • Improving community awareness of the NDIS and identifying new opportunities for connection and support.

To succeed in this role, you will be an approachable, positive and passionate individual who can build strong relationships and coach others to achieve their goals.

The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience or lived experience working with individuals with disabilities, as well as experience in planning and collaboration to achieve collaborative outcomes. Additionally, knowledge of the local community and available options for social and economic participation is essential.
