Financial Accountant Role

Godfrey Hirst, a 160-year-old manufacturing company, is part of Mohawk Industries, the world's largest flooring manufacturer and a Fortune 500 NYSE listed company.

A great opportunity exists for an experienced and driven financial accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team and deliver high-quality general accounting services.

The Job Description

You will be responsible for preparing monthly financial reports and performing financial accounting services including journal processing, month-end general ledger close, balance sheet reconciliations, management reporting, and tax support as required.

In addition, you will assist in preparing statutory accounts, BAS, tax, and FBT, and monthly reporting. You will provide insight through your analysis regarding business performance to assist the leadership team in decision making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly financial and management account reports.
  • Perform financial accounting services including journal processing, month-end general ledger close, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing statutory accounts, BAS, tax, and FBT.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have a bachelor's degree in accounting with 3 to 5 years of post-qualification experience in a similar financial accounting role. You will be CA/CPA qualified or near qualified.

High-level numeracy and reconciliation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy, are essential. You must have exceptional Excel skills and be a current user of an ERP system with experience in SAP or JD Edwards being particularly valued.
