Psychological Care Professional

We are seeking a skilled Psychological Care Professional to support and innovate in our correctional environment.

This is an opportunity for psychologists at all levels, from provisional registration through to senior practitioners, to contribute to a safer and more constructive environment. You will be based at the Clarence Correctional Centre in NSW, working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will provide advice and support for mental health wellness programs, conduct comprehensive psychological assessments, and deliver evidence-based treatments.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement mental health strategies to promote prisoner well-being
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop individualised treatment plans
  • Participate in clinical supervision and multidisciplinary consultations to ensure high-quality care
  • Collaborate with internal staff and external stakeholders to enhance service delivery
  • Prepare detailed reports and submissions to inform decision-making
Key Qualifications:
  • Professional registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist (provisional through senior registration levels)
  • Postgraduate experience delivering individual counselling, preferably within correctional or institutional settings
  • Solid understanding of evidence-based practices in assessment and intervention
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
