Job Opportunity

The Classroom Teacher position involves developing and delivering educational programs to achieve specific student outcomes. As the teacher gains experience, their contribution to the school program beyond the classroom increases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students;
  • Contribution to curriculum development and implementation within the school;
  • Undertaking other teaching-related duties as determined by the School Principal;
  • Participation in activities such as staff meetings; camps and excursions;
Essential Qualifications
  • Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualification to teach and/or demonstrated experience in the specified curriculum area(s).
School Overview

Glenroy Central Primary School is an open plan facility located in Logan St Glenroy and is part of the Hume/Merri-bek Network. The school consists of four buildings: Administration, Junior and Senior Learning Communities, and a full-sized Gymnasium/Performing Arts facility. We have a Visual Arts room attached to the Senior Learning Community.

The school serves a multicultural community with diverse nationalities including Lebanese, Pakistani, Indian, Iranian, and Nepalese. Approximately 70% of families hold Health Care cards, and 80% have a language background other than English.

Our school operates in Learning Communities, emphasizing teamwork and collaboration. Each Learning Community has an allocated team of teachers and aides responsible for providing programs meeting the needs of all students and ensuring they reach their full potential.

Additionally, we offer kindergarten programs for 3- and 4-year-olds, managed by Northern Schools Early Years, which oversees multiple local kindergartens on school sites.
