Job Summary

As Sand Mining Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and safe operation of open-pit mining and processing activities at our site.

This role involves directing operations to ensure compliance with Visy policies and associated statutory laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing Principal Mining Hazards
  • Ensuring safety procedures are enforced and compliance is maintained
  • Leading inductions and training for staff and contractors
  • Conducting audits and driving continuous safety improvements
  • Supervising operational activities across the site
  • Managing scheduling, inventory, and maintenance for efficient output
  • Enforcing safety, environmental, and quality standards

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must possess a minimum of five years of experience in mining, quarrying, manufacturing, mineral processing, engineering, or a closely related production environment.

A proven successful supervision and leadership skill performance is also required.

You must possess an approved Workplace First Aid Certification and appropriate current licenses and tickets to drive and/or operate company-owned vehicles, plant, or equipment relevant to this position.

A basic understanding of Accounting Principles and Budget and Cost control is also necessary.
