Job Title: Solutions Architect

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to join our ANZ Professional Services team at Cloudera. As a Solutions Architect, you will have the opportunity to design and implement large-scale Big Data solutions using the Cloudera Data Platform and Cloudera Dataflow.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work directly with customers to implement Big Data solutions at scale using the Cloudera Data Platform and Cloudera Dataflow.
  2. Design and implement Hadoop and NiFi platform architectures and configurations for customers.
  3. Perform platform installation and upgrades for advanced secured cluster configurations.
  4. Analyze complex distributed production deployments, and make recommendations to optimize performance.
  5. Document and present complex architectures for customer technical teams.
  6. Work closely with Cloudera teams at all levels to ensure the success of project consulting engagements with customers.
  7. Drive projects with customers to successful completion.
  8. Write and produce technical documentation, blogs, and knowledge-base articles.
  9. Participate in the pre- and post-sales process, helping both the sales and product teams to interpret customer requirements.
  10. Stay current with the Hadoop Big Data ecosystem technologies.
  11. Attend speaking engagements when needed.

Requirements:

  1. Government Clearance NV1 or above (highly considered).
  2. 10+ years in Information Technology and System Architecture experience.
  3. 5+ years of Professional Services (customer-facing) experience architecting large-scale storage, data center, and/or globally distributed solutions.
  4. 5+ years designing and deploying 3-tier architectures or large-scale Hadoop solutions.
  5. Ability to understand big data use cases and recommend standard design patterns commonly used in Hadoop-based and streaming data deployments.
  6. Knowledge of the data management ecosystem, including concepts of data warehousing, ETL, data integration, etc.
  7. Ability to understand and translate customer requirements into technical requirements.
  8. Experience implementing data transformation and processing solutions.
  9. Experience designing data queries against data in the HDFS environment using tools such as Apache Hive.
  10. Experience setting up multi-node Hadoop clusters.
  11. Experience in configuring security configurations (LDAP/AD, Kerberos/SPNEGO).
  12. Experience in Cloudera Software and/or HDP Certification (HDPCA/HDPCD) is a plus.
  13. Strong experience implementing software and/or solutions in the enterprise Linux environment.
  14. Strong understanding of various enterprise security solutions such as LDAP and/or Kerberos.
