Job Title: Skilled Mason

As a skilled mason, you will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting building plans to ensure accurate construction of structures. Your duties will include erecting and dismantling scaffolding, creating walls, foundations, and other structures using various materials.

  • Analyzing and interpreting building plans.
  • Erecting and dismantling restricted height scaffolding.
  • Creating and maintaining structures, walls, foundations etc using various types of blocks, tiles, boards, and stone.
  • Laying bricks in rows, designs and shapes, and spreading mortar between joints.
  • Embedding blocks in mortar and removing excess mortar.
  • Strengthening and sealing foundations with the appropriate material, usually damp-resistant materials.
  • Fastening bricks with wire clamps or cement.
  • Repairing building blocks.
  • Understanding and managing the quantities of material required for the job.
  • Using tools such as hand tools, brick-cutting machines but also spirit levels and plumb lines to check building alignment.
  • Working safely on scaffolds and swing stages at various heights.
  • Ensuring compliance to agreed codes, legislation, and procedures including health and safety.
  • Maintaining accurate records/documentation associated with the work undertaken.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate III/IV in Bricklaying or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience.

Benefits:

This position offers a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $80,000.
