Job Summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team as an Engine Field Service Technician. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers by performing preventative maintenance and basic repairs on engines and related components at the customer site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance and Basic Repairs: Complete preventative maintenance and basic repair activities on engines and related components at the customer site with minimal direction.
  • Engage with Customers: Engage with customers in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.
  • Diagnose and Repair Issues: Apply the use of specialized tools and follow documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools.
  • Escalate Issues: Escalate unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance Activities: Perform preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engines and related components in the field.
  • Complete Required Documentation: Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, and warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  • Maintain Service Vehicle and Tools: Maintain service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
  • Ensure Adherence to Health, Safety & Environmental Policies: Ensure adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislations.
Requirements
  • Australian Recognised Trade Certificate: Hold an Australian recognised trade certificate in heavy or light vehicle mechanics.
  • Previous Experience: Have a minimal level of workshop-related experience and basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Possess knowledge of internal combustion engines, electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs, and have a passion for providing outstanding service to customers.
  • Technical Skills: Have strong diagnostics application skills, ability to navigate the Electronic Service Tool, and complete Service Documentation.
  • Health and Safety Fundamentals: Have knowledge of Health and Safety Fundamentals and ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
  • Current Driver's License: Hold a current driver's license.
