Job Summary

Cummins Inc. is seeking a skilled Engine Field Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our field service team, you will be responsible for completing preventative maintenance and basic repair activities on engines and related components at customer sites with minimal direction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completes preventative maintenance and basic repair activities on engines and related components at customer sites with minimal direction.
  • Engages with customers in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring prompt and efficient attention to their needs.
  • Applies specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete basic repairs, including preparing required parts and tools.
  • Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor.
  • Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engines and related components in the field.
  • Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, and warranty claims via handwritten forms or business system input screens.
  • Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.
  • Ensures adherence to all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental policies, procedures, and legislations.

Requirements:

  • Australian recognized Trade certificate (heavy or light vehicle)
  • Previous repairs and maintenance experience with Marine, Power Generation, On Highway Truck, Mining, Construction, or Agriculture applications is desirable but not essential.
  • Minimal level of workshop-related experience required.
  • Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant Trade Qualification of Heavy Diesel Mechanic (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of internal combustion engines, electrical, and mechanical fault finding and repairs
  • Passion for providing outstanding service to customers
  • Strong Diagnostics Application
  • Ability to navigate the Electronic Service Tool and complete Service Documentation
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Fundamentals
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Current Driver's license
