Engineering Manager Role Overview

VGW is an interactive entertainment company that harnesses technology and creativity to deliver world-class, free-to-play games. We are currently seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our Infrastructure team in Sydney.

As an Engineering Manager in our Infrastructure team, you will oversee a group of talented engineers, providing both line management and technical leadership to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions. You will be responsible for implementing, coaching, and sharing your strong understanding of DevOps practices and application architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of engineers.
  • Implement and coach DevOps practices and application architecture.
  • Oversee the development and deployment of infrastructure solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and standards.

Requirements:

  • Prior leadership experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience with AWS or other cloud-based architectures.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices and application architecture.
  • Experience with short and medium-term planning and technical project leadership.
  • Understanding of resilience and cloud security techniques.
  • Experience with incident response.
  • Experience with ITIL processes and practices.
