Role Overview

Requirements

To be successful at Level A, we are seeking:

  • A completed or nearly completed PhD in systems engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or a related discipline, with a focus on operations and supply chain management.
  • A demonstrated record along with strong potential of research scholarship publishing in highly ranked journals in operations, manufacturing, business, or supply chains research.
  • A demonstrated background in the use of modelling, qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, the academic community, industry partners, and key stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to work independently and also as a member of a broader team, including with partners.
Desired Characteristics

We are looking for individuals who demonstrate:

  • Demonstrated success at motivating and supervising the research of Undergraduate, Honours and/or Higher Degree Research students.
  • A demonstrated aptitude to engage collaboratively with industry partners and other external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of optimisation solvers and proficiency in machine learning algorithms and their practical implementation through Python language.
  • A minimum two years of relevant postdoc and/or industry experience [for Level B appointment].
