Lecturer in Speech Pathology

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lecturer (Speech Pathology) to join our team at the University of Southern Queensland. As a key member of our School of Health and Medical Sciences, you will play a vital role in the development of our Speech Pathology programs, including internal and external accreditation.
Based at our Ipswich campus, you will work collaboratively with a diverse team to deliver high-quality teaching and research in Speech Pathology. You will also have the opportunity to build strong linkages with industry and professional bodies to ensure the ongoing professional relevance of our awards and to facilitate partnerships in applied research.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early career researcher or a practitioner with industry experience looking to progress their career. You will have the chance to contribute to the growth and development of our Speech Pathology programs, while also advancing your own research and teaching interests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach into the Speech Pathology discipline, incorporating contemporary and blended approaches.
- Develop and deliver high-quality curriculum materials, assessments, and teaching resources.
- Contribute to the development of research projects and collaborations with industry and professional bodies.
- Provide academic support and guidance to students, including mentoring and supervision.
- Participate in departmental and faculty-wide initiatives, including curriculum development and accreditation processes.
Requirements:
- Doctoral degree in an area relevant to Speech Pathology or progress towards gaining a PhD.
- Registration (or eligibility to register) as a Speech Pathologist by Speech Pathology Australia. Additional certification for clinical practice is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully teach into the Speech Pathology discipline, incorporating contemporary and blended approaches.
- Experience with interprofessional education, novel placement models, Indigenous, regional, rural and remote health, and student-led clinics.
- A research track record, including high-quality publications, external funding, or other relevant applied research outcomes.
