Role Overview
The Food Services Assistant position is a vital part of ensuring residents receive high-quality dining experiences. This role contributes to the overall well-being of residents by creating a welcoming atmosphere during mealtimes and providing nourishing meals tailored to individual needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meal Preparation: Assist in meal preparation, which may include chopping vegetables, assembling salads, portioning food, and preparing simple dishes under supervision.
- Serving Meals: Help serve meals to residents during mealtimes, ensuring each resident receives the appropriate meal according to dietary requirements.
- Dining Room Setup: Set up dining areas before mealtimes, ensuring tables are clean and all necessary items like cutlery, plates, and glasses are in place.
- Dishwashing and Cleaning: Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, and maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area.
- Resident Interaction: Interact with residents in a friendly and courteous manner during mealtimes, addressing their needs and requests as appropriate.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Food Handlers Certificate.
- Adaptable, passionate, and willingness to learn.
- Collaborative and skilled at teamwork.
- Friendly and effective communication abilities.
