Griffith University is seeking a talented PhD Scholar to contribute to a groundbreaking research project focused on foot biomechanics.

Overview

The aim of this project is to bridge the knowledge gap in human musculoskeletal function by exploring the intricate interactions between foot morphology, neural control, and function. This initiative will result in significant advancements in our understanding of foot mechanics and capacity to measure internal function both within and outside the laboratory.

Job Description

You will be working as part of a highly successful multi-disciplinary team operating across multiple national and international universities. Your primary role will involve contributing to the development of new knowledge and technologies that can inform future applications in precision health, human performance, and personalized athletic footwear design.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you are expected to hold a bachelor's degree with first-class honours or a master's degree that incorporates a substantial research component in biomechanics, biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, human movement science, kinesiology, or related fields.

  • A high level of proficiency in rigid-multibody dynamics (OpenSim) and computer programming skills (MATLAB, Python, or C++) are essential requirements.
Requirements

This opportunity is open to domestic and international applicants who have completed or expect to complete a bachelors degree with honours equivalent to first-class honours or a Masters degree (AQF Level 9) incorporating a significant research component.

Compensation Package

The estimated annual salary for this position is approximately AUD $76,000 - $103,000, depending on experience and qualifications. You will also have access to additional benefits and resources to support your research endeavours.
