Job Title: Radio / Telecommunications Field Technician - P25

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Radio/Telecommunications Field Technician to join our team. This is a critical role in the Critical Communications Expansion Plan (CCEP), responsible for the successful commissioning, integration, and maintenance of new Public Safety Network (PSN) sites and services.

The ideal candidate will have post-qualification experience in an operational or technical environment with P25 Radio/Telecommunications networks. They will be proficient in telecommunications technology and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

The role will involve onsite configuration/testing of Motorola P25 systems, conducting quality audits, escalating issues to the integration team and project managers as required, and providing internal progress reports and other documentation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Configuring and testing Motorola P25 systems and subsidiary equipment such as DC power, backhaul network, and RF monitoring systems.
  • Conducting Post Construction (PC) quality audits to ensure site builds conform to design and agreed standards.
  • Escalating or flagging issues to the integration team and project manager/s as required.
  • Ensuring all requirements for post-construction testing activities are completed and records are updated and provided accurately.
  • Developing, reviewing, and enhancing processes and technical documentation.

The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a remote region environment, operate a 4WD vehicle, and obtain Defensive Driver and Trailer Towing competencies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Post-qualification experience in an operational or technical environment with P25 Radio/Telecommunications networks.
  • Telecommunications: technical proficiency.
  • Current drivers' license and ability to travel long distances and in remote regions.
  • Australian citizenship.
