Nephrology Nurse

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Nephrology Nursing Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a haemodialysis clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement nephrology nursing theory and practice, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
2. Demonstrate commitment to quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient outcomes.
3. Participate in the design, planning, delivery, and evaluation of patient care, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal results.
4. Protect patients' rights by adhering to privacy principles and providing an excellent standard of care, promoting a safe and healthy working environment.
5. Responsible for own professional development, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in nephrology nursing, and providing education to colleagues, patients, and visitors.
6. Actively participate in quality improvement processes, reporting incidents, hazards, and opportunities for improvement, and contributing to the development of quality improvement plans.
7. Maintain accurate patient information in medical records, including Therapy Data Management System (TDMS), and adhere to confidentiality and privacy policies.
8. Registered as a general nurse with AHPRA, current practising certificate, and understanding of quality improvement processes and risk management obligations.
9. Demonstrated clinical competence and expertise in nephrology nursing, ability to continuously reflect on nursing practice, and apply learning as appropriate.
10. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, ability to operate within a multidisciplinary team, and demonstrated organisational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
11. Ability to effectively perform staff and patient education, knowledge of nursing, nephrology, and other professional issues impacting nursing practice within the specialty.
