SB Recruitment is assisting a leading financial services firm in the Sydney CBD find a skilled Financial Accountant to join their team for a 15-month fixed term contract. This role offers an ideal opportunity for a talented accounting professional with approximately two years' experience to deepen their skills and gain exposure to a wide range of finance and accounting areas, including financial analysis.

The Role:

  • Conducting reconciliations, providing analysis and resolving discrepancies in key financial balances
  • Preparing journals and assisting in the preparation of accounting records and financial statements
  • Managing accounts payable and ensuring compliance with policies
  • Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and offering actionable insights
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Operations, Data, Treasury, Sales) to ensure seamless financial integration
  • Supporting the preparation of financial statements, regulatory reports, and tax returns
  • Driving process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
  • Contributing to the company's securitisation funding program through accurate financial reporting

About You:

  • A degree in Accounting, Economics, or Business, working towards CA/CPA qualifications
  • At least two years' experience, ideally within financial services
  • Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and proficiency in Excel (advanced skills are a plus)
  • Familiarity with Australian financial statement reporting and accounting standards
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team player
  • A passion for innovation and process improvements

Salary:$80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience
