Network Development Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Development Engineer to join our team at TPG Telecom. As a key member of our Network Systems and Technology Center, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining our network operational support systems and network management systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, automate, and provide support and maintenance for in-house scripts, tools, plugins, APIs, and reports.
  • Lead technology development activities within the Network Systems and Technology Center.
  • Manage code repositories such as Git, SVN, Bitbucket, etc.
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines using tools like VSTS, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, or Jenkins.
  • Demonstrate SQL knowledge and the ability to work with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle.
  • Work with public cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
  • Proficiency in various programming languages, including Ansible, Perl, and Python.
  • Understand and support MANO (Management and Orchestration) systems such as Nova, Neutron, FUEL, and NSX-T.
  • Support and maintain various systems and servers, including Nagios, MRTG, Cacti, eHealth, TACACS, and Syslogs.
  • Research and test/simulate other OSS (Operations Support Systems) and NMS open-source tools.
  • Provide guidance on pipeline architecture and management.
  • Collaborate with leadership and development teams to implement changes.
  • Translate functional requirements into robust and maintainable test scenarios and suites.
  • Assist QA analysts and software developers in triaging and analyzing defects.
  • Set up and configure Unix/Linux/Windows servers for monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot various applications hosted on UNIX, Linux, and Windows platforms, utilizing OS-specific tools.
  • Support and maintain DNS servers, including DNSMAN tool and generic host name servers.
  • Handle requests for new TACACS accounts, router command level access modifications, and device management.
  • Process requests for new support tickets and queues.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to OS jumpbox logins, MRTG graphs, and Observium.
  • Collaborate effectively with other teams.
Requirements:
  • A relevant Bachelor's Degree or Tertiary qualifications in IT/Telecommunications.
  • CISCO certifications will be highly regarded.
  • Python
  • Linux certification is desirable.
  • A minimum of 3 preferable 5 years of experience in IT and Telco, with a focus on administering and supporting network management and related systems.
  • Strong skills in routing and switch networking.
  • Preferably, a background in Linux/UNIX.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Effective technical analysis and troubleshooting capabilities.
