Key Specialist Advisor Role

This is a key specialist advisor position in the health and safety field. The role requires an individual to develop and maintain a comprehensive hearing conservation program, conduct regular inspections to identify environmental health risks, undertake environmental health compliance duties including sampling and auditing, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance, and respond to reported health matters and complaints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive hearing conservation program, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential environmental health hazards, providing recommendations for mitigation and implementation of control measures.
  • Undertake environmental health compliance duties, including sampling and auditing, to ensure facilities meet or exceed regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Respond promptly to reported health matters and complaints, conducting thorough investigations and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Essential: An Audiologist or audiometrist qualification with 3+ years of experience in audiometric testing, along with strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Desirable: A tertiary qualification in environmental health, public health, or science, further enhancing the candidate's expertise in this field.
  • A Food Safety Supervisor Qualification and Cert IV in OHS are also highly valued.
