About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our Pre-Analytical Team at Nepean Hospital.

  • Perform laboratory support and/or specimen reception services and/or collection services, providing assistance to laboratory staff as needed.
  1. A working knowledge of the laboratory environment is essential. This includes knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, and safety protocols.
  2. Demonstrated ability to maintain high quality work output while managing competing priorities.
  3. Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients, and clinical staff.
  4. Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills, combined with the ability to investigate and resolve general issues within the laboratory environment.
  5. Excellent data entry skills, with high attention to detail and data accuracy.
  6. Awareness of legislation, policies, and requirements relevant to a laboratory setting.
  7. A current unencumbered Class C driver's license, with the ability to travel between sites as required.
  8. Willingness to participate in a 24/7 shift work arrangement, as required.
