Heavy Equipment Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing maintenance, repairs, and reconditioning works on all types of earthmoving, heavy diesel, plant & equipment machinery and engines.
This is a residential role based in Gladstone and not suited to FIFO / DIDO.
About the Role- Perform routine maintenance tasks on heavy equipment, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection.
- Conduct repairs and reconditioning works on heavy equipment, including replacement of parts and components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with heavy equipment, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve project goals and objectives.
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and reconditioning works on all types of earthmoving, heavy diesel, plant & equipment machinery and engines at various locations and sites.
- Provide outstanding customer service by ensuring site managers and supervisors are kept well informed of all matters in relation to job progress and costs.
- Ensure repairs are carried out using appropriate control guidelines to ensure that rework does not occur.
- Determine reusability of all disassembled parts.
- Submit accurate service reports, timecards, parts request sheets, and parts quotes.
- Relevant trade qualifications and demonstrated service and repair experience on mobile and plant equipment.
- Industry experience repairing and maintaining earthmoving, construction, quarrying, maritime port, and agricultural equipment will be highly regarded.
- Well-developed communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to work autonomously and as a team as required.
- Demonstrated and proven ability with desktop computers and devices.
- Experience on various diagnostic systems.
- Commitment to a high level of workplace health and safety.
- Your ability to work under pressure during peak periods is essential.
Above-average compensation: $47 – $52/hr FT + penalties + SUPER with regular overtime. Our competitive pay rates exceed industry standards.
