Neonatal Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to join our team as a Neonatal & Postnatal Support Nurse. This role is designed to support midwives in the care of newborns on the postnatal ward.
This supernumerary role will complement and enhance midwifery care, working under the oversight of the midwifery team and not directly allocated patients.
The successful candidate will have experience in neonatal or postnatal care and be registered with a current practicing certificate.
Responsibilities
- Support midwives to provide high-quality care for unqualified newborns requiring additional clinical care in the postnatal ward.
- Assist where possible with the post-surgical care of women, including those who have undergone caesarean section.
- Contribute to delivering safe, timely, and quality patient-centred care to women and their babies.
- Potential opportunity to undertake postgraduate studies in midwifery, neonatal nursing, women's health, or a related field.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (Division 1) with a current practicing certificate.
- Experience in neonatal or postnatal care is desirable but not explicitly stated.
- Postgraduate study opportunities may be available following the pilot.
- Vaccination and immunisation requirements as applicable.
