Job Description

  • We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Professional to support the execution of our WHSE strategy, systems, and action plans.
  • The successful candidate will deliver risk reduction initiatives, including risk assessments and high-risk activity reviews, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • This role involves facilitating or overseeing incident investigations using best-practice methodologies (e.g., ICAM), as well as coordinating emergency preparedness and response plans, teams, and training.
  • The Risk Management Professional will provide coaching and guidance to build WHSE capability and a proactive safety culture, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators.
  • The role also involves monitoring WHSE performance, conducting audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives, representing WHSE in forums, committees, and delivering effective communications and training.

Key Responsibilities

  • To contribute to the development and implementation of our WHSE strategy, systems, and action plans.
  • To lead or support risk reduction initiatives, including risk assessments and high-risk activity reviews.
  • To facilitate or oversee incident investigations using best-practice methodologies.
  • To coordinate emergency preparedness and response plans, teams, and training.
  • To provide coaching and guidance to build WHSE capability and a proactive safety culture.
  • To engage with internal and external stakeholders, including regulators, to ensure compliance.
  • To monitor WHSE performance, conduct audits, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • A passion for safety and a collaborative mindset.
  • Relevant qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety, environmental science, emergency management, or related fields.
  • A strong understanding of WHS and environmental legislation, standards, and risk management practices.
  • Experience in WHSE roles within large complex organisations, or high-risk environments.
  • Defence, civil or commercial construction, oil, mining and gas, engineering or similar industries will be highly advantageous.
  • Experience with high-risk activity management and incident investigation methodologies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Project.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and influence stakeholders to drive cultural and behavioural change.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage across diverse teams.
  • A high level of integrity, resilience, and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
