About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our team in Olympic Park. This is a permanent position, offering a salary of AU$85,000 per annum.

As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for providing financial accounting and reporting services to our business. This includes month-end closing procedures, internal and statutory reporting, as well as managing fixed assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements;
  • Manage fixed assets, including asset recognition, measurement, depreciation, and disposal;
  • Conduct asset reconciliations and ensure compliance with internal control procedures;
  • Analyze depreciation movements and provide period-end commentaries;
  • Prepare fixed asset related reports, updates, and budget;
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, including asset policy and operational procedures;
  • Provide advice on accounting treatments and capitalization/expenditure queries;
  • Conduct intercompany reconciliations and recharge calculations;
  • Support internal and external audits, completing audit requests and following up on issues;
Requirements
  • Tertiary education in Accounting;
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in a mid-to-large-sized organization;
  • Supervisory experience is highly desirable;
  • Demonstrable experience in month-end closing procedures and balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and internal controls;
  • Problem-solving skills, logical and analytical thinking;
  • Self-initiative, flexibility, and resilience;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and strong MS Excel skills;

Satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required for this role. You must have full-time work rights to work in Australia and be willing to undertake role-specific training within specified timeframes.
