Job Description

This is a unique opportunity for an expert in High Voltage Systems – Protection, Controls and SCADA (up to 500kV) to establish and grow a team in Australia.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Lead a team of secondary system designers and support multi-disciplinary design and project management teams, including mentoring more junior engineers.
  • Prepare and deliver full scope of secondary design for new and brown field sites, including conducting load flow, fault levels, and protection coordination studies, relay application and protection settings, protection and control schematics, SCADA system architecture, communication protocols and auxiliary supply systems.
  • Maintain client relationships to support project delivery and engage as a subject matter Specialist.
  • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to define project goals, establish timelines and develop project plans.
  • Participate actively in design reviews, risk assessments and quality control processes to ensure design excellence.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in power system control and protection design, to recommend innovative solutions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in the design of HV and EHV substation installations, and preferably additionally for BESS, Solar/wind, with an expertise in secondary systems design, including Protection, Control, SCADA and auxiliary supplies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical skills with the ability to develop and lead design teams and develop strong client relationships.
  • Experience working in digital engineering environments and delivering to local technical standards and guidelines.
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Electrical / Power Engineering or an Equivalent.
