Mill Operations Assistant

As a Mill Operations Assistant, you will be responsible for performing and monitoring day-to-day milling operations. This includes tasks such as operating screen room equipment and making minor adjustments to machinery.

You will also plan the production schedule with support from Production Supervisors/Managers to ensure consistent production at all times. Additionally, you will formulate wheat blends and change the flow of wheat in the mill.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Milling Operations Management: Perform and monitor day-to-day milling operations, ensuring optimal production levels.
  • Production Planning: Plan the production schedule with support from Production Supervisors/Managers to achieve consistent production.
  • Wheat Blend Formulation: Develop and implement effective wheat blend formulations to meet production requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all production quality requirements are met, adhering to industry standards.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Establish maintenance priorities and participate in the implementation of the maintenance program.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will require experience in a grain processing and/or food manufacturing environment, knowledge of milling or baking, and a mechanical aptitude with some knowledge of PLC-run operations.

A working knowledge of health & safety requirements and processes is essential. Experience in LEAN manufacturing and food safety standards, such as Coles, WQA, BRC & HACCP, is an advantage.
