Mechanical Technical Officer Job Opportunity

This is a newly created position based at our Kwinana Power Station site.

The Mechanical Technical Officer will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of Kwinana Gas Turbine Plants within and external to Synergy. This involves high-level technical and supervisory activities associated with equipment manufacture, installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and repair.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake operations and maintenance work at Kwinana and Cockburn Gas Generation facilities
  • Plan, supervise, coordinate, or carry out activities associated with equipment manufacture, installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and repair
  • Carry out technical inspection, prepare reports with recommendations, and arrange necessary action
  • Manage maintenance outage projects in accordance with schedule while maintaining quality standards
  • Prepare and assess designs, calculations, estimates, sketches, specifications, and tenders

Requirements:

  • Certificate IV or above in Mechanical discipline
  • A trade certificate in Mechanical discipline
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in the maintenance and operation of Gas Turbines or power generating plant
  • Strong knowledge of inspection/testing practices and experienced in equipment maintenance/repair practices
  • Skills in Power Generation equipment maintenance, commissioning, and operation practices
