About This Role

This is a dynamic opportunity to join Bird Construction as a skilled tradesperson, working on a project site within the Greater Vancouver area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements.
  • Take precise measurements and calculate the necessary materials for each task.
  • Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other materials according to specifications.
  • Lay out floorings, roofing, or walls, ensuring they are level and compatible.
  • Move materials around the worksite and set up tools, machinery, and equipment safely.
  • Adhere to site safety protocols at all times.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a carpenter.
  • Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
  • Proficiency in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools.
  • Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
  • Commitment to following safety guidelines.
  • Good understanding of basic math.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Enrolment or completion of an apprenticeship program is recommended.
