Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Kitchen Steward to join our team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in maintaining exceptional standards in our kitchens.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering great service, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, as well as previous experience in a hotel environment. You will be responsible for cleaning and sterilising countertops, walls, stoves, ovens, grills, sinks and cooking equipment, maintaining food storage areas, receiving and organising deliveries, supporting the chefs and other kitchen staff in basic food preparation, cutting, peeling, and washing, and removing kitchen waste and washing dirty dishes.

As a Kitchen Steward, you will work closely with our chefs and other kitchen staff to ensure that every dish served is of the highest quality. You will be expected to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety at work, and to work across a rotating roster, including nights, weekends and public holidays.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Passion for delivering great service
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Previous experience in a hotel environment (beneficial)
  • Ability to work as part of a team and meet deadlines
  • Physical stamina to perform manual handling tasks, including occasional lifting/push/pull of heavy items and bending/kneeling
  • High standard of cleanliness and safety at work
  • Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including nights, weekends and public holidays
  • Compliance - must hold a Food Safety Certificate
  • Meet the legal requirement to work in Australia without limitations or restrictions
