Senior Laboratory Technician

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to join our team as a Senior Laboratory Technician.

  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in laboratory testing and a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • They will also possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and train junior staff.

The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations, as well as maintaining accurate records and reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • To perform a range of geotechnical and construction materials tests to the highest standards of accuracy and quality.
  • To ensure that all testing is carried out in accordance with relevant Australian standards and Queensland TMR test methods.
  • To maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, as well as troubleshoot any technical issues that may arise.
  • To provide training and guidance to junior technicians, promoting a culture of excellence and integrity within the laboratory.
  • To work closely with field and project teams to ensure timely sample handling and reporting.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5-7 years' experience as a NATA-authorised signatory in CMT or geotechnical testing.
  • A Diploma of Laboratory Technology or equivalent tertiary qualification.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian standards and Queensland TMR test methods.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
