Transition to Professional Nursing Practice
About the Role:
This is a 12-month program that enables newly graduated Enrolled Nurses to develop and enhance their clinical skills and professional development within general acute, sub-acute or mental health clinical practice settings.
The program provides full-time or part-time employment opportunities in facilities across Northern Sydney Local Health District, including Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Hospital, Macquarie Hospital, Mona Vale Hospital and Adolescent and Young Adult Hospice (AYAH), Royal North Shore Hospital, Ryde Hospital
The purpose of this role is to provide safe and effective nursing care to patients using an individualised holistic approach related to the goals of care determined by the Primary Nurse (Registered Nurse) and within professional role limits and Enrolled Nurse Scope of Practice. In the delivery of nursing care the Enrolled Nurse will work under both the direct and indirect supervision of the Registered Nurse.
The Enrolled Nurse will consult with the registered nurse to ensure delegation is commensurate with own level of competence and within Local Health District (LHD) and Service policy, particularly in relation to the administration of medications.

Requirements and Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled nurse with recent completion of a Diploma in Nursing or Eligibility for registration with AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse upon completion of Diploma in Nursing prior to commencement.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated evidence of recent clinical placement in an acute care setting.
