English Teaching Opportunity

The ideal candidate will be a skilled educator with experience in teaching VCE English to students in Years 11 and 12.
The selected individual will be responsible for designing and implementing engaging learning programs that cater to the diverse needs of students.
They will work collaboratively with colleagues to develop effective curriculum and assessment strategies that promote student growth and achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing learning programs that align with curriculum requirements.
- Developing teaching activities that incorporate differentiated strategies to meet specific learning needs of students across abilities.
- Using effective teaching strategies to integrate ICT into learning programs, making content relevant and meaningful.
- Planning and implementing structured learning programs or lesson sequences that engage students and promote learning.
- Selecting and using relevant teaching strategies to develop knowledge, skills, problem solving and critical and creative thinking.
- Establishing and maintaining orderly routines to create an environment where student time is spent on learning tasks.
- Providing timely, effective and appropriate feedback to students about their achievement relative to learning goals.
- Creating a positive environment where every student has the opportunity to learn.
- Contributing to collegial discussions and applying constructive feedback from colleagues to improve professional knowledge and practice.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience teaching VCE English (Years 11 & 12).
- Understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children.
- Professional practice aligned with The Woodleigh Teacher expectations.
- Experience in designing, implementing and assessing effective curriculum.
- A capacity to teach English Literature.
