Key Role Summary

Key Moves is partnering with John Wardle Architects to find a Financial Controller to join their award-winning organisation. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the senior management team and play a fundamental role in the ongoing profitable operation of the organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all financial activities, including management of the team's deliverables around financial reporting and control.
  • Management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and strategic input into all financial aspects of the practice.
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, external accountants, banks, and financiers, insurers, and other suppliers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and implement new initiatives.
  • Facilitate the on-going development of all team members.
  • Financial input into bids, tendering, contracts, and variations, including fee and profit benchmarking.
  • Apply financial and other practice metrics/trends to formulate practice strategies with the senior leadership team.
  • Involvement in industry bodies and development of a profile within financial aspects of the profession.
Requirements
  • Formal Accounting qualification (CA or CPA)
  • 10+ years' experience in the accounting or finance space
  • Experience in the Architecture industry is preferred but not essential
  • Excellent technical knowledge, and application of financial and management accounting standards, principles, and practices.
  • Highly developed specialised financial analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to engage, develop relationships, and lead practice members at all levels
  • Strong ethics and values with an ability to manage confidential data
  • Well-developed negotiation skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to identify patterns and trends
  • Curiosity and problem-solving orientation
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
